The Offer
The AAdvantage shopping portal is offering a bonus for using their shopping portal in honor of the back-to-school season.
- Spend $750 and get 1,500 bonus miles
- Spend $350 and get 700 bonus miles
All the bonus miles are on top of the regular portal earning which vary by store.
The Fine Print
- Offer runs from 08/3/16 through 08/21/16 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Bonus Period”)
- The $350/$750 tiers are based on your cumulative purchases made during the Bonus Period
- “Qualifying purchases” do not include returns, cancellations, shipping and handling, taxes, gift card or other cash equivalent purchases, and certain products that are not eligible for bonus miles
- Allow 8-10 weeks after the Bonus Period for bonus miles to post to your AAdvantage shopping account
Our Verdict
Nice bonus of 2 miles per dollar on all shopping if you hit the exact tier amounts.

As always, remember to compare shopping portal rates to see if these offers make sense. I find them to be worthwhile on eBay, for example, since these portals usually offer .5 miles per dollar + bonus offer, versus the ~1% you’d get with a cash back portal.
