Our Verdict

This seems to be a pretty good bonus, as it’s basically an extra $20 on top of your regular sign up bonus. There is one thing to remember though, Creditcards.com doesn’t always display the best sign up bonus, so make sure you’re getting the best deal for applying.

But you could apply for the Capital One Business Spark Cash card and get $500 from Capital One and another $20 from Dollar Dig for example. Or you could get 50,000 Citi ThankYou Points on the Premier card and another $20 from Dollar Dig.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a portal payout like this before, in fact usually it against the rules to give an incentive (in addition to the sign up bonus) on credit card offers like this. This either means that Dollar Dig are breaking the rules, or Creditcards.com have relaxed their policies. If it’s the latter we should see other portals offering something similar in the future and they might offer better rates.

There is no real harm in doing this, as you should get an extra $20. Just please make sure you’re getting the best offer before you click that apply button. Also keep in mind hat credit card commissions are quite high, so if you want to support a blogger you enjoy reading then using their links is a nice way of saying thank you (although you’ll obviously be forgoing the extra $20), we don’t use those types of links so feel free to support another blogger or just use Dollar Dig and get an extra $20 instead.

You might remember Dollar Dig from our interview with a shopping portal owner, I’ll see if Chuck can get in touch with him again so he can give us more details on this offer. Update: Apparently Dollar Dig has had this offer for awhile now, there hasn’t been any relaxing of the rules – but perhaps he doesn’t have the same contract that I did when I was using those links.
