First time this amex offer happened a few months back (?) I used it, but was not targeted the previous time or this time. Family member was not targeted the first time, used it the previous time, and was targeted again this time. Seems rather random.

Even if you’re buying a GC, you should still go through a shopping portal just in case. Earlier this summer, I earned 10% CB when buying a GC using the portal a lot of people dislike on here.
There’s a new (?) offer that ends 1/1/21 that I just see is online only.
Yes, it was a physical GC I purchased in July. I went thru TCB at the time for 10% CB and it successfully paid out in September. I have the same offer saved as well.
