or donate to local charities with minimal overhead that help those that are homeless or in poverty. seems like that would be more “dope” than helping a corporation achieve extra tax incentives

Actually, I just found an awesome local organization on the list that I donate to anyway — exciting to have a chance to match, since my employer doesn’t.

Water Legacy is lobbying against opening up northern Minnesota to all sorts of toxic mining disasters. They rally people to show up at the capitol, rally people for letter-writing campaigns, probably do other direct-lobbying stuff I don’t know about because it’s not as relevant to the mailing list, etc.

I found out about them through another “matching” program local to Minnesota a few years ago — excited to see someone matching donations to them again.
