China To Ease Flight Restrictions For U.S. Airlines, Provide Incentive For No COVID-19 Cases

Yesterday we posted that U.S. planned to block Chinese airlines from flying in or out starting June 16th, 2020. This was due to Chinese authorities regulators limiting foreign carriers flights and not responding to Delta & United Airlines request to resume flights. Civil Aviation Administration of China has released a new statement and set of rules.

  • From June 8th, 2020 all airlines not listed in the ‘fifth phase’ flight plan can choose one city from a list of pre-approved cities to resume one international passenger flight per week.
  • If a flight’s passengers test negative for COVID-19 for three consecutive weeks the airline will be able to add one additional flight per week
  • If five or more passengers test positive for COVID-19 the airline must suspend the flight for one week

Can anyone answer why Chinese websites are not SSL/TLS encrypted? It annoys me every time I visit aliexpress or the linked CAAC website that is not secure. Sure, the great firewall wants to see everything, but … why?

What if you happen to test negative or don’t pass any of their tests. There goes your vacation.

US wins over another country? Come on, big companies keep winning over the people. It’s nothing more than two big companies quit the market when it’s not profitable but now are asking for the privilege through the government. Yeah, they always win, like buying back stock when the economy is good but getting government support under bad weather

If you think the police in the US are bad, in China No lives Matter. I’m not going back to China unless somehow the CCP is abolished. Too bad, such an amazing country.

I personally think this kinda approach is helpful containing coronavirus cases. If you follow Trump’s tune, it’s absolutely reasonable for every other country to ban every single American in their own country. Nothing is wrong with that. And with current protests, we saw how the “privileged” is really the privileaged.

Perhaps UA or DL wants to know China’s door so badly to make $$$$$$$$. Sorry, communist country doesn’t allow your free economy style.

Banning foreigners is just a simple entry denial, as is already in place in China as well as many other countries. The whole fiasco right now is about limiting returning Chinese, they couldn’t blatantly declare that they are denying citizens entry so airlines serves as a cover.

Yeah, more than 20k New Yorkers died, and they won’t have a chance to blame the US gov hadn’t limited returning American from Europe, as Cuomo said New York State’s coronavirus was from Europe after the travel ban.

It’s not a trolley dilemma as you indicated, many other countries/regions have evacuated citizens from abroad without serious consequences.

Exactly Chinese government is doing sensible things to protect its citizens. There is definitely a market for US-China routes. But I doubt UA daily flight request is warranted.

Pretty fair deal. If you can’t control your coronavirus or your own racism, don’t come to China. Nothing wrong to ban UA or DL.

CHINA

Let me talk about truths, or propaganda defined by lamestream media. China just tested nearly 11 million people in Wuhan and only find around 300 positive COVID-19 cases. Lamestream media tell you China’s data are fake, but won’t tell you China has tested more than 85 million cases. Except recent tests in Wuhan, one of China’s province, Guangdong has tested more than 11 million cases, which is already more than Trump has been bragging all the time.

For United/Delta, lamestream media seems again convince you they are victims. First of all United/Delta don’t want to follow the 14 days quarantine, secondly United/Delta want daily flights namely privilege. However it is United/Delta themselves who firstly cancelled all flights since Feb, and due to COVID-19, at that time flights were basically empty and the carriers which chose continue to serve paid the price. United/Delta now find there are profits, and want to rejoin, which is not decent but understandable, however, United/Delta don’t want to follow quarantine, and want daily flights, these privileges United/Delta claimed are simply shameful.

Yup, ZERO case from “85 million tests”, must be due to the superiority of your authoritarian government=)

No it’s not privilege, a bilateral agreement between US & China gov grants airlines from both country to operate roughly the same number of flights between big cities, including those daily flights. Whether flights are actually operated or not is left to the airlines (We don’t need to drive our car 24/7 to prove it’s ours, otherwise we are gonna lose our house, lol). Yet they will lose the authority if flights were suspended for too long, and it’s not the case here.

I don’t understand. The union is the one who wants to shut down fly to China. YES, especially AA. And now the house of cards realized that this is a money pot then decided to came back? Will YOUR UNION put the risk of your members to start flying again?

The daily cases report in China is 0 for the most time. You may say that’s a fake number but in fact people are back to work, schools are operating, restaurants are open for dine in… That won’t lie. China may be the safest foreign country to operate now…
