[Expired] Cardless Launches Boston Celtics Card with $300 Signup Bonus (7% Rideshare & Streaming, 4% Dining)

Update 7/5/22: Down to $50 now

New card issuer Cardless has launched a new credit card in partnership with the Boston Celtics.

Signup Bonus

  • Get 30,000 points when you spend $2,500 within the first three months.

To receive 30,000 bonus points, you must be a new cardholder with no other open Cardless credit card accounts. (Apparently closed cards stop you from getting approved as well.)

Card Details

  • No annual fee
  • Card earns at the following:
    • 10% off purchases at the online Celtics shop
    • 7x points on Celtics tickets, rideshare services and streaming services
    • 4x points on dining
    • 2x points on groceries and drug stores
    • 1x points on everything else

Points are worth 1¢ each as a statement credit or 1.25¢ towards Celtics gear.

Our Verdict

The $300 cash signup bonus is pretty good. The 7% back on Rideshare and Streaming is very interesting, as well as the 4% back on Dining. Looks to be an uncapped earning rate, hopefully that lasts.

We’ll add this to our list of best credit card bonuses. Cardless has previously launched Manchester United & Cavaliers and Marlins cards. This Celtics cards also has a referral offer where the referrer gets 10,000 points ($100) for referring a friend; the friend gets the regular signup bonus; works well for those in 2-player mode. No referrals below.

I’m seeing “Earn 5,000 Points
worth at least $50 in statement credits and other rewards, after spending $500 in the first three months*”

VC must be in remission. Needs to come off the best CC list as well. Thank you.  William Charles  Chuck

Only a matter of time before this company achieves the true meaning of its name, ‘Cardless’.

I opened my account on 05/03 with a Score of 730 and got a 2000 CL. Spent $2000 by 05/15 and got the credit statement right away. This gotta be the easiest redemption I had for all my credit cards (completed on Sunday so I thought I had to wait until Monday but I was mistaken). I like the system and the only thing I dont like is they use PLAID but you can avoid it. But definitely a card that I will use in the future.

How do you avoid using PLAID to make a payment?

I used it. I found out later about their issue.

All the cardless cards are now 30K points. I got a Liverpool FC card 🙂 Don’t have to be forced into Celtics

The minimum spend for the bonus is actually $2,000, not $2,500.

Anybody have any experience getting transactions that are declined on this card to go through? I don’t see any way to mark them are verified so that they don’t get flagged.

Anybody knows how to setup auto pay for this card? The Web UI and the App UI are very simple and I could not find anywhere to set it

My understanding is that there is precisely one way to pay (for instance, they also do not accept checks or electronic payments from other banks [??] – I checked): ‘make a payment’ (web or app), where you have to link a bank account (Plaid or Plaid-like setup).
