Our Verdict
We don’t have any datapoints on what codes as a direct deposit for upgrade but nice to see a bonus for existing users.
The bonus posted only after contacting them. My employer was not in their (small) system so I set it up the old fashioned way (numbers).
well, she wasn’t the prettiest, but i finally got my dance
4/25: enrolled in offer (and did not set up DDs via upgrade)
5/11: received real $2,500 DD
5/11: transferred $2,500 from upgrade rewards checking to upgrade premier savings (4.81% APY)
5/26: received real $2,500 DD
5/26: transferred $2,500 from upgrade rewards checking to upgrade premier savings
6/13: received real $2,500 DD (technically unnecessary, but i figured i would keep this going during the Bonus Period)
6/14: transferred $2,500 from upgrade rewards checking to upgrade premier savings
6/23: Bonus Period End Date
7/23: no bonus received
7/24: phoned it in and had a CSR take a look and escalate to the back office
7/25: DIRECT DEPOSIT BONUS of $75 received
The bonus never posted for me. Going to reach out to them on Monday.
Got my bonus on 7/20. $50 despite being targeted for $25/$75. I did $1k in DDs.
Anyone received the bonus after meeting the conditions?
The Bonus Period expired on June 23, 2023 11:59 p.m. PT. The fine print further says “the Direct Deposit Bonus will be paid to your Rewards Checking account within 30 days of the end of the Bonus Period.” If my maff is correct, that means we should all be practicing some patience until around July 23.
I received this for a dormant account holding $1 which I am keeping open just for potential referral bonuses in the future. Their link wants me to somehow set up the direct deposit via their website, which isn’t something I am interested in. Instead, I “printed” out a form and will “submit” that my employer. This already seems a bit complicated and I have no idea if this will actually register me or not. But I did initiate real DDs from my employer and can update in due course.
Any update?
No soup for me, all I got was this:
Thank you for being an Upgrade customer! You already accomplished a lot with Upgrade. What’s next on your list? We want to continue to partner with you on your goals, today and tomorrow.
I got the $25 bonus email, but mine didn’t list any minimum of 1k-4,999 amount that’s posted above.
Same got a $25 email with no minimum listed
Haven’t seen it, but then I’ve never had more than a few hundred dollars in there at any one time and never will.
Why?
Also got the $150 offer for depositing $5000
