Our Verdict
Nice deals if you’ve already had the cards before and don’t get the pop up. Not as good as the last offers that came with a free night certificate.
Hat tip to miles and burn
Dead
It would have been better if you had explained that all of the offer on this page are now issuing an error message when you open them. “Dead” by itself on a page with multiple links is not clear enough, especially when one the links was more recently updated..
Yes, updated post.
Applied for P2 and app went pending. Anyone else run into this and what was the end result?
Do you have more than 4 Amex cards? Usually you can only have 5 total.
P3 got an email a few days later to call in, and was approved immediately.
My application was denied 🙁
P2 in repeated PUJ from referral and regular links but the NLL Surpass offer was approved. Was at 6/24 and last AMEX approval was 8 months ago, decent amount of spend on the cards but the AMEX algorithm decides what it decides. Thank you for the NLL links!
Hi
William Charles
I’ve never had an Aspire before, but I was still getting PUJ despite having an excellent FICO score and no card downgrades or closures ever.
I used your link (the “Update 4/15/25: New Aspire offer working again (hat tip to DDG):” one), and got approved.
I rushed and didn’t notice your warning (“As always be cautious with these links”).
I am new to this. How risky is it? Is my account in any real danger for having used that link? What is the worst that can happen?
Thank you
Hubby and I both used them last year and hubby just got 2 with this offer. so not too concerned. Also had both sons use last year and friends this year.
Thank you, appreciate the reassurance!
“currently our systems are not responding”. this for surpass. Dead?
The surpass offer loads fine for me.
But you didn’t explain at what exact point you got that message. Was it when loading the Surpass offer, or only when applying for it???
That matters a lot for someone trying to verify whether it’s still happening.
Surpass and Honors card offers opened properly for me. Try again?
Where exactly are you seeing this message: when opening the link, or only at some points while applying?
As noted in the other reply, the link seems to be working fine.
Just applied and accepted for 2nd surpass.
Now applied and accepted for 2nd no annual fee card.
Just applied for Surpass again after two year hiatus and got approved.
So i’ve been submitting one application a day for the last few days using NLL link (hoping to catch it before it’s pulled away). One was 90 days after my last card (Denied due to too many cards in last 90 days, then 91 days, and now on my third try (92 days) i got a different message saying too many applications in a short amount of time. Does anyone know when I can try and apply again for the automatic multiple app denial? I’m reading 7 days in reddit forums, which would put me now at over the 04/29 link expiration date. Can i try in a couple days?
You likely won’t make it. But you could just wait — this offer isn’t that stellar and the NLL links come and go. My guess: it won’t be long.
I rolled the dice and was worried about getting auto denied due to multiple applications. I applied for Amex Hilton Aspire and Hilton Surpass and received both approvals. P.S. I actually tried to go for Aspire 1st, and then , thinking I would get approved again, applied for another aspire. But was auto denied 2nd aspire due to “already being approved for a card same family”. So i decided to do a third application for that and was approved for Surpass. Keep in mind this is my 3rd aspire and 3rd surpass. These links IMO are actually UNDER rated. Keep in mind a FNC + 175,000 points is not a joke. People are seriously sleeping on Hilton at the moment. Just don’t redeem in US, except for Hawaii! If you know you know.
Is there a way to change the anniversary date? I get the FN certificates in April which is too close to spring break. If I get it earlier, I can plan my spring break.
It’s good for a year, you can plan 11 months in advance.
What I meant was, I receive it around March which gives me like a month to plan anything for April. If i get it like in Jan, it will give me more time to look for award availability.
The FN certificate can take quite a while to arrive after you apply for the card, so don’t count on getting it by a specific date.
If you want to start using the FN certificate in Jan, you might want to apply for the card in the previous fall.
Thanks. My question is, is it possible to change the anniversary date if I already have the card.
Certainly not in the first year. Due to a federal law, banks typically cannot make changes to your credit card account until one full year has passed.
I’m not sure if you can change it after the first year has passed. You’d have to inquire with Amex about that.
Most people have never asked about changing their anniversary date on an already open card, so I haven’t heard anyone ever mention whether they could do it, even though I’ve been frequenting a discussion site that covers travel, including a Hilton Honors forum, for decades now.
Probably not in the first year.
I don’t know if you can change it after the first year or not. Not many people have ever asked about that before.
I really with they would remove their 5 card limit, damn
Any intel on how long it takes Amex to clear recently cancelled cards from their system? I just got declined (for a NLL Hilton) despite having dropped below the 5 card limit 10 days ago. The reason given was too many personal cards open with them – even though I only have 3 open.
I hear it automatically updates after ~30 days. You can try calling in and getting someone to manually review your application. I just waited the 30 days, though yeah, the aspire NLL link will likely disappear before that.
I think around a month
I cancelled a card and it went effectively right away. I had to call for recon after the application got rejected due to 5 card limit, the approval department conferenced in a CS rep to cancel a card, then got approved for a new card at the same call.
We cancelled our Surpass cards and business cards (four in total) around April 5 but P1 here just got approved for the no-AF card and P2 is approved for the Aspire. We were both at 5. When we cancelled, the next time we logged in a popup asked if we would like to remove the canceled cards from online access. Clicked yes and they were gone.
Actually, you may be lucky that you have a 5 card limit. Some people apparently have a 4 card limit.
One reason is that even though the Amex Green card is a charge card, Amex seems to count it for some reason (because of some feature it has that’s similar to a feature on many credit cards) in the credit card limit.
Whats strange is that P2 has 6 cards. 3 amex aspire, 1 surpass, 1 regular hilton, 1 business hilton. I’ve tried to do some research about this but can’t find out why she was an exception. One reason MIGHT be the NLL links we used to get her card 5 and 6. Applied for both same day. Perhaps that bypasses the 6 card rule.
Anybody ever get an email from Hilton Honors in regards to referring friends and family for a 20k point bonus up to 140k per year? Reason why I ask is my referral link shows the usual benefits for the aspire card, but it also lists a separate $250 resort credit under the “shopping and entertainment section”. I was wondering if through this referral link the person applying would get a total of $650 for resort credit.
I think I’m stuck in 2/90 Jail at the moment. My last 2 cards (Aspire and Regular Hilton) were opened 01/21/2025. So That means I’m good to apply using NLL in 5 or 6 days right?
