You’ll never get it back. It’ll become an OG card. If it is a keeper CC (Rewards outweigh annual cost) than I would absolutely keep it.
Thanks for the update. I was going to have P2 apply for card last week and couldn’t find an application page.
I opened this card in June 2021 and met the minimum spend and forgot to use it for ~3 months while I was moving apartments. Barclay’s closed my account after just a few months of inactivity. I had to call AA last month when I remembered (yes lol it was 2+ years, funny how my mind works) and they were able to get me into my AA loyalty account and the agent implied that Barclay’s had been doing this to a lot of people so the reps were familiar with the process to recover accounts.
What would Barclay closing your card have to do with your AA account?
I left mine unused for 10 months and still had to call to cancel it manually… 😉 Wish Barclays were more diligent in closing my inactive cards.
Odd.. I opened the card over a year ago, hit the spend with one purchase (wedding), and havent touched it since.

Well I just got a second biz AA bonus for myself last month.
“Explore further enhancements” = reduce value of benefits while raising the annual fee … oh yea, and add some “coupon” features
