Recap: Upgrade Offer By Calling, One Two Free & More

  • topbonus has filed for insolvency. F.A.Q regarding it found in that link, haven’t really been following this one much as it doesn’t directly effect me but obviously not good news. Hope no readers are too impacted by it.
  • Easily the best and most relaxing thing on the internet, another episode of Primitive Technology. I like to watch it without subtitles first and then again with subtitles. Iron age time here we go!!

I did the upgrade offer from Amex ED to EDP and it’s already showing as EDP on my Amex account online, am I good to start doing the spend for the bonus?

My rep told me since my ED card has been opened for less than a year (7 months) I did not qualify for an upgrade offer.

However, I was offered to add up to 4 authorized users – 1500 MR points for each upon $150 spend per each in 3 months.

“upgrade offer of 25,000 points (amex everyday to everyday preferred) by calling in. Anybody else had success doing this?”:

Spouse just happened to be on the phone with Amex in my hearing distance. I urged her to ask for the offer, which she did; which she was offered; which she accepted.

Never would have known of this if it wasn’t for all the wonderful things you do!

I received an offer for 25K MR points for upgrading my Everyday to Everyday Preferred (after $2K spending) back in April 2017 over the phone. I cannot recall why I called them in the first place, possibly to cancel or downgrade one of my other cards (?? I have no clue!). I accepted the offer and had no problems getting the MR points. The AF was prorated (as it usually is with Amex). I just assumed this was already covered on DoC’s site and I was just late to the game!

I posted this same thing on r/churning this morning. I was offered the same thing and trying to decide if it is worth it considering the annual fee.

I find AMEX SPG to be very unsympathetic to requests having to do with points. I got the card with 25k bonus, and found out there had been a higher bonus just a few days before. No go.

I added my husband as AU when I applied a few week back and now they have add a AU and get 2500 pts. I called and asked If I could get those points. No go. Their suggestions was to delete him as AU on my account and then use the link to add him as AU for the 2500 pts. I was hesitant to do so but did it.

Results – got a “pending” reply and will have a $1k spend IF he is approved. I shouldn’t have done it, but sometimes, late at night…it seems like maybe it would work.

I can hear them shrugging their shoulders when I ask about points. Yet others have posted that they are thrown points for almost anything. .YMMV of course…

I’ll be glad when the Blue Business Plus starts to do something…..anything (as long as its positive of course)! I was considering the ED (waiting on a good bonus) until the former came along. I actually try to avoid as much non-business and AF cc’s as possible.

I love primitive technology. I wonder if the camera is made from clay the way our ancestors 3 centuries ago used to shoot videos with.

Does he get into his car and order a latte from Starbucks after he is doing acting primitive.

Primitive Technology is awesome. I started watching since your last recap. It’s definitely one of the unique channel on YouTube. The fact that he stays anonymous and have no social media outlet also add to the atmosphere.
Thanks for the recommendation!

+1 great camera work and indeed relaxing. I’ll be tuning in for others. Wish there were some in-person classes for a walk through of these type of experiments. DoC primitive retreat w/ no talk of bonuses allowed!
