- Justice Department Announces Compensation Process for Western Union Fraud Victims With Funds Recovered Through Asset Forfeiture by Department Of Justice. $586 million in total. Fingers crossed no readers were impacted by this scam, but if you were or know somebody who was please file a claim.
- Chase Pay’s Trouble With Traction by PYMNTS. Spending a lazily $100 million to achieve 9th place in the mobile rankings doesn’t seem good. I’ve always personally stated that I don’t think card issuer specific mobile wallets make sense. We’ve already seen deals on Walmart & Starbucks, I suspect we will see some on Best Buy & Target as well. Either way keep spending that money, Chase!
- Updated And Improved IHG Spire Elite Benefits by Monkey Miles. 10AM check in, subject to availability.
- For those with a VX travel bank.
What is being overlooked in the “customer acquisition” aspect of yesterday’s $25-for-$25 offer is follow through. Reading DoC’s comments thread regarding how that went, I saw dozens of comments that mirrored my own experience. Namely: I tried and tried and it failed repeatedly for hours. It worked for some and crashed for others.
Customer Acquisition only works as well as the product does, and if it fails spectacularly for a new customer, that person isn’t likely to choose it over the myriad options available.
Conversion already possible, just checked and also sent you a pic on the tweeter. I was wondering what was going to happen to these credits.
Mobile payments are brutal if Apple ever added rewards (which they clearly don’t need to as the numbers show unlike Samsung pay) its game over. But Apple knows they don’t need rewards, the major problem with Chase Pay is in its current order ahead form is pickup only. Sure I loved my discounted bourbon and free dinner but if it would have been snowing here that would have been a game changer.
Thanks, glad to know it’s already possible.
I don’t think that $25 off $25 promo is going to help Chase Pay’s bottom line… but I enjoyed my free food.
They are just in the customer acquisition frame of mind currently, trying to grab as much market share as they can as quickly as they can.
