Our Verdict
This goes on sale often, although usually the sale price is $99 + $50 Amazon gift card, so that is an additional discount on the already reduced regular sale price. This used to be called Microsoft Office 365 Home and now is rebranded to Microsoft 365 Family. It offers 6 people a 12-month Microsoft Office subscription for $99 which is the regular price, and with this deal you get a bonus $50 Amazon physical gift card thrown in free and a further discount.
What I see when clicking on the link and getting to the Amazon “offer” is a scam. $148.88 for MS 365 Family plus a $50 Amazon GC. Why are people getting excited about saving $1.22? I pay $99 a year for MS 365 Family.
This offer can be used to extend existing subscriptions. I currently have MS365 subscription that I purchased from Amazon in August for $80. I purchased this offer this afternoon. Once activated, my existing subscription was updated to only Nov 2023 but after an hour or so it again updated to Aug 2024.

The smarter deal here is to buy the 1-person plan for several years, and then use the family plan to convert your 1-person plan to a family plan by just buying the last year.

Wish I had known that first. Reminds me of when we maxed out xbox live gold for three years then upconverted it for free to xbox game pass ultimate.
Bought enough till 2027.
And have 2 left in my account waiting to be activated.
I guess I’ll either sell the codes or hold onto it for another year when I can add them.
It’s allowing me to unassign the key from my amazon account or activate. Obviously I wont activate as I’ll have two over lapping. Unless I activate it, maybe it will go towards my 2027 account date?
Reason I think otherwise, all went automatically until these last two where it’s just showing in my account.

Walmart and Newegg both currently have the 15 month license for $70. If you’re looking to stack subs and have it be managed by Microsoft, I recommend this over the posted Amazon deal.

Warning, if you buy this, Amazon becomes the manager of your O365 subscription and can affect your ability to stack subs in the future from other vendors which are managed by Microsoft.
