In case you didn’t know Amazon.com has a whole section of their website dedicated to credit cards, this section isn’t only promoting the co-branded Chase Amazon credit card or the Amazon store card but a lot of other credit cards as well.
A few days ago we posted about the Discover it offering a sign up bonus of $100 Amazon gift card after $500 in spend, which is higher than the current bonus of nothing on the card (although it often goes up to $150 in cash after $750 in spend). A reader asked if they had any higher than normal sign up bonuses on any of the other cards, so I thought I’d do a comparison.
Table
In total Amazon.com has 35 credit cards listed and 4 prepaid cards. None of the prepaid cards come with a sign up bonus, so we’re going to disregard them and only look at the credit cards. In the table below you’ll see: card name, Amazon.com bonus, highest bonus and any additional notes we have.

Better Offers
- All of the Discover cards (sadly no Discover it Miles card is listed) come with a higher sign up bonus. That being said all of these cards have had higher public sign up bonuses in the past so I’d wait for those.
- Most of the smaller credit union cards come with a $50 Amazon.com gift card. On their own websites they generally don’t seem to offer any bonuses, although none of the cards look interesting at all. Given that there are so many cash sign up bonuses for credit cards that are higher I’m not sure why you’d want to apply for any of these cards.
- All of the American Express & Citi cards had the exact same offers or worse than what is available. These just seem to be the standard public sign up bonuses and don’t even offer Amazon.com credit.
Our Thoughts
All in all the Amazon credit card page is basically useless, I wish more cards had a higher Amazon.com credit than just the normal sign up bonus as that would probably tempt me to apply. Unfortunately it’s mostly just the stock standard offers which aren’t enticing at all. I was secretly hoping to find a sign up bonus on the Citi double cash card as well.
