(Update) Is Capital One Moving Their Credit Cards To Discover Network? (Venture, Quicksilver, Savor)

Update 4/21/26: They are transitioning existing Quicksilver cards to Discover, more details here

Update 3/5/26: In a statement to TheStreet, Capital One confirmed they have started putting some new cards on the Discover network. (Again, premium cards, business cards, and cobrands are not affected at this time.) Here is the statement:

We have started originating select Capital One credit card accounts on Capital One’s Discover Network. This is an important step forward in our journey to continue offering compelling products to customers, while accelerating scale and investment in the Discover Network and enhancing competition in the global payments industry. As we continue to integrate Discover with Capital One, we remain focused on delivering long-term value to consumers, merchants, and small businesses.

Update 3/4/26: Some people are seeing Savor card applications being advertised as Discover while others are still seeing Mastercard. It appears to be a staged rollout or in the process of getting updated.

Original Post 2/26/26:

People noticed today that Capital One now has official PDF Benefits Guides for their Venture, Savor, and Quicksilver cards using the Discover network.

It appears from the benefits page that the bank might be moving over their Venture, Savor, and Quicksilver cards to the Discover network. Currently, these cards run on the Mastercard payment network. (Note: the Venture X consumer card is not specifically mentioned on that page at all.)

This comes after the merging of Capital One with Discover. And the issuance of all Capital One debit cards as Discover cards.

For now nothing has changed, but it’s a bellwether to Capital One shifting their cards over to the Discover network, possibly soon.

The same page still shows the Capital One business cards (including Spark and Venture) and their cobranded cards as Mastercards. And so apparently don’t have any plans of moving those to the Discover network soon.
