Amazon: Save up to $40 on Kindle Readers by using Membership Rewards Discount + Amazon Discount [Kindle as Low as $19.99]

Amazon is offering $30 Kindle E-readers and $40 off Kindle Paperwhite E-readers when using at least 1 Membership Rewards point. There’s a separate deal we posted about a few days ago to get $20-$40 off a Fire tablet. This post is about a deal to get $30 or $40 off Kindle E-reader devices.

• Get $30 off a Kindle E-reader:
  • The $80 reader with special offers is on sale for $60. The $30 discount brings down the cost to $30. A Dansdeals reader noticed that if you choose the Black color, they actually take off $40 for unknown reasons. This brings down the cost to just $19.99. Just be sure to first activate the $40 coupon as well since that’s the one that’s working on the black version.
  • The $100 reader without special offers is on sale for $80. The $30 discount brings down the cost to $50. 
• Get  $40 off a Kindle Paperwhite E-reader:
  • The $120 paperwhite reader with special offers is on sale for $100. The $40 discount brings down the cost to $60.
  • The $140 paperwhite reader without special offers is on sale for $120. The $40 discount brings down the cost to $80.
  • The $190 paperwhite reader + free cellular with special offers is on sale for $170. The $40 discount brings down the cost to $130.
  • The $210 paperwhite reader + free cellular without special offers is on sale for $190. The $40 discount brings down the cost to $150.

The Fine Print

• ‘Click to Activate‘ before using the offer.
• You can use even 1 Membership Rewards point and get the discount.
• Limit one coupon code per order. (You can do more than one order.)
• Offer is available by invitation only.
• Offer applies only when purchase is made with an eligible American Express card, where Membership Rewards points are used for at least a portion of the purchase and the promotion code is applied at checkout. You’ll have to activate Shop with Points on your Amex card if you haven’t done that already.

Our Verdict

Seems like the offer might be working on some items or colors but not others. If all works out, you can buy quite a few Kindle’s at an excellent price if that interests you. The best deal is the $80 Kindle for just $20, mentioned above, which will only work once. You should also be able to go through a portal for a further 8% cash back. Kindles are excluded unfortunately.
