American Express Adding Some Benefits To Corporate Cards

Update: This is for actual corporate cards, not the corporate advantage program.

American Express offers three different corporate cards (Green, Gold & Platinum), these cards are available to individuals that work at large corporations. When these cards first launched they were of interest because they contained no lifetime language, sadly that is no longer the case. American Express has announced the addition of a few benefits to these cards as follows:

  • Green card:
    • Complimentary Hilton Honors silver status (starting November 2019)
    • Double Uber Rewards points on bookings made through Uber Business profiles that are charged to this corporate card
  • Gold card:
    • Complimentary Hilton Honors silver status (starting November 2019)
    • $100 airline incidental credit
    • Double Uber Rewards points on bookings made through Uber Business profiles that are charged to this corporate card
    • Access to Uber Priority pick-ups at most major US airports
  • Platinum card:
    • Up to $179 in statement credits towards CLEAR membership (starting November 2019)
    • $100 airline incidental credit
    • Trip Delay Insurance
    • Trip Cancellation & Interruption insurance
    • Double Uber Rewards points on bookings made through Uber Business profiles that are charged to this corporate card
    • Access to Uber Priority pick-ups at most major US airports
    • Ability to ride with “highly-rated” Uber drivers where available

The main additions are the airline incidental credits. These cards previously did not come with these benefits and this brings them more in line with the personal variants of the same card. Still no huge reason to go for the corporate cards over the standard personal cards but sometimes the bonuses differ and it’s usually possible to get an extra $100/$150 statement credit.

Don’t you already get $200 fee credit with business platinum? Is it now worse?

For anyone who cares to know, a friend of mine who works at Quicken Loans said on their last company call it was stated that 3 million Amex card holders will be targeted with an offer for a $2500 statement credit on a new mortgage or refi with QL.

Not sure if this is currently the case, but all MR points earned on Corporate cards will be transferable to your personal MR stash.

Yes. The MR points that you earn on a Corporate Amex Card can be added to your personal MR account for a small fee if your company allows itm

useless. “Double Uber Rewards points on bookings made through Uber Business profiles that are charged to this corporate card”….but then you lose out on the 1.5-2% charging to your own card.

Not entirely useless, as some companies require you to use corporate card over personal card on travel expenses.

Are there any other ways to get CLEAR membership covered? This doesn’t seem to be a benefit of any other cards (other than a rumor for the new green AMEX card)

Seems to be 109 for any Delta medallion member or cc holder, or United premier member or cc holder. It’s only free if you’re Delta diamond or United 1K.

William Charles I don’t think the following lines in the article apply here:

“When these cards first launched they were of interest because they contained no lifetime language, sadly that is no longer the case.”

“Still no huge reason to go for the corporate cards over the standard personal cards but sometimes the bonuses differ and it’s usually possible to get an extra $100/$150 statement credit.”

I believe the updates are to the corporate cards themselves, which a person can’t apply for – the card would be issued by that person’s company. I think the lines above apply to the Corporate Advantage program, which allows a person holding a corporate card to sign up for special offers for personal Amex cards. But that doesn’t sound like it’s changing here.
