The spend requirement to get a signup bonus on the consumer Platinum card from American Express was always $8,000 within 6 months. They’ve now changed it to $12,000 within 6 months.
Referral links have been updated as well to the higher spend requirement. Apparently, there are No-Lifetime-Language offers (with lower bonuses) which still have the $8,000 spend requirement.
I’ve been considering getting the Schwab Amex Platinum for the 1.1 cashout option. I see that card still has the $8,000 spend requirement, so maybe I should apply now before that changes. Same thing with the Morgan Stanley card version which is still showing the $8,000 spend requirement.
