American Express is testing a new way to provide customers with targeted offers. Reddit user realbadhombre was offered a 20,000 points additional card member bonus after spending $2,000 within 6 months.
Two interesting things to note:
- Offer was time limited and they had an hour to accept the offer, count down was at the bottom of the chat.
- Offer was also shown under the Amex Offers and Benefits section
I suspect at some stage this will be extended to other products/promotions and the offers will be exclusive to chat rather than showing elsewhere but that is guesswork on my part.
