American Express has announced that from March 1, 2026 the transfer rate to Cathay Pacific Asia Miles will be reduced from 1:1 to 5:4.
Effective March 1, 2026, the ratio for transferring Membership Rewards points to Cathay Pacific Asia Miles will be changed from: “1 Membership Rewards point = 1 Asia Mile” to “5 Membership Rewards points = 4 Asia Miles”.
It’s nice to see some advanced warning but it’s also troubling to see more and more transfer partners drop from 1:1 to lower rates (e.g Capital One to Emirates and American Express to Emirates).
