Update 6/17/19: Reddit user DespicableCasual received an e-mail stating that WeWork will no longer accept parcel deliveries of American Express customers.
Update 3/27/19: An e-mail has just been sent out about this benefit and in that e-mail it clearly states that guest access is not allowed:
Guest policy
This membership does not include guest passes. However, if you book a conference room, you are allowed to sign in guests for the duration of the meeting. Guests must also be registered in advance.
Previously we indicated that guests were allowed to be brought in as people were bringing in guests without issue. It will be interesting to see if WeWork is now enforcing the no guest policy or not.
Original post: American Express Business Platinum cardholders can now sign up for a one year membership to co-working space WeWork. In this post we will share everything you need to know about this new benefit.
Contents
The Basics
- Enrollment link
- WeWork membership is valid for one year after enrolling (doesn’t look like this will be an ongoing benefit for cardholders)
- You must enroll by 12/31/2019
Membership Length
After signing up you receive membership for a full year, plus the end of the month. For example if you sign up on March 1st, 2019 you’d receive membership until March 31st, 2020.
Access Restrictions
After you sign up at a WeWork location you’ll be given a keycard. The F.A.Q states you’re only given access from 9AM until 6PM Monday to Friday local time. People have been able to access WeWork locations outside these hours and even on the weekend by using the keycard.
Guest Access
This membership does not include guest passes. However, if you book a conference room, you are allowed to sign in guests for the duration of the meeting. Guests must also be registered in advance.
You’re allowed to bring in guests with this membership, but it’s not clear what the guest limit is (or if there is one).
F.A.Q
What happens if I cancel my business platinum card?
Fine print says you need an active business platinum card to keep your membership, with other benefits (e.g Priority Pass lounge access) this is usually enforced.
Final Thoughts
Obviously we still don’t know much about this benefit, I’d love to know more so please share your experiences in the comments below.
