Deal History

Our Verdict

This is a regular offer and one of the best offered for REDcard, previous offers can be viewed here. Sometimes we see $50 off, but that requires $100 in spend. Sometimes you can also get $4 via Swagbucks as well but not currently available. There is no hard pull for the debit card or reloadable card.

It seems Target now allows opening the card again every 180 days. If you closed out an old card and it’s been more than 180 days since opening the previous card, they should approve you for a new one. (Previously it was every 90 days.)

I saw the terms now say “you’ll have at least 30 days to use the $50” coupon.. apparently it says on Target Circle.. how long was the expiry for people here? Did you get 30 days or longer?

I applied 8/20, received everything a week later. Had a 12/2/24 expiration date. Summer Zzcodi

that’s really helpf! thanks for sharing.. so it’s more than 30 days.. sounds like almost 45 days. I think they just load the $50 via the app now instead of doing the physical coupon like in the past?

I got the coupon but I’m not sure how this works. It asks me to scan a barcode and the $50 will be applied to my wallet. Do I need to go to a store to scan this? I tried with my phone and nothing works.

I have the same issue. I scanned the barcode on the app but it didn’t show up on my wallet.

In order for me to FIND my scanned coupon (it indicated it was accepted) in the app I typed in “$50” in the Search Target Circle search field. I found it and then I was allowed to use it. I clicked it on and off a few times and then it showed up in my Target Circle Bonus just for you.

It’s real intuitive.

Anyone know when this current round will expire? (or any guess)?

P1 app instantly approved. P2 application for debit card went into review (expect mail in 7-10 days). P2 had a debit card that was closed last year. She had to open a target online account this time before applying (which may be different this time).

Another DP for the debit card. Previously opened 3/11, closed 8/5, approved 8/19.

Interesting – previously we had heard the need to wait 180 days, you were approved in less than that

Anyone else approved after less than 180 days?

The churn is still strong for the debit card. Previously opened 2/10, closed 7/10, approved 8/20. Similar timeline for P2.

Did you need to use a different bank account?

Same bank account for debit card? (I donot know if reloadable needs that info)

Yes, same bank account for the debit card. I linked via Plaid/Affinity or whatever named service to Capital One.

I don’t recall linking a bank for the Reloadable. They give you an account number/RTN to transfer money to it….

I got a denial for using the same bank account for P2 as me, but I think it’s more for being under 180 days since last open

Ummm… Yes, more than likely. Only seen one data point that was less than 180 days recently and I’m pretty sure they ghosted the person asking questions about their date.

Can you get the bonus from both the reloadable and the normal debit if you get approved for both?

AdoptaPetInstead

Yes, but don’t delay… For the debit they mailed me the $50 voucher and by the time I grabbed the mail it had ready expired.

For the reload card I spent $50+ online then the store apparently didn’t have some items in stock (even though it let me place the order online)…so they had to break-up my order and ship to me. Because of this the $50 never registered so I never received the $50 credit.

I tried dealing with their awful outsourced customer service on both matters and they are completely useless and just want to argue with you. Also no one (in store or their direct customer service numbers) seems to know how these cards function and what the terms are.

Anyway, I’ll get off my soapbox now.

I got Approved for the Debit. Now how do I go about using the $50?
