Deal History

Our Verdict

This is a regular offer and one of the best offered for REDcard, previous offers can be viewed here. Sometimes we see $50 off, but that requires $100 in spend. Sometimes you can also get $4 via Swagbucks as well but not currently available. There is no hard pull for the debit card or reloadable card.

It seems Target now allows opening the card again every 180 days. If you closed out an old card and it’s been more than 180 days since opening the previous card, they should approve you for a new one. (Previously it was every 90 days.)

Is there still birthday reward?
5% as before?
Does it stack with the 5% red/ circle card discount?
Does the (5%) birthday reward come off before or after the 50 off 50 coupon that comes with current debit card application?

A birthday reward is added on your birthday, good for 30 days (P2 just had it added yesterday).

It does stack.

I can only guess, but from DPs, it seems that the total has to be $50 after all discounts, including the value of gift cards with purchase.

I had opened my reloadable account February 7th, and I didn’t look at the terms close enough. I didn’t end up spending $50+ until about 50 days later at the end of March. Would it be worth trying to reach out to see if they would manually credit the bonus, with it being close to the 45 day mark? This is my first reloadable account.

DP: Opened a reloadable Sept 2023 for $40 bonus. Closed reloadable. Opened reloadable Mar 17, 2024 for $50 bonus. Spent $52 on Mar 27, $50 bonus posted on April 17.

Good DP. Just stating the obvious, for those just tuning in… the Reloadable is churnable, and the current theory is it works only if you had previously did the $40 reloadable offer.

If you had done the $50 offer previously, you can open a new Reloadable account, but don’t expect the bonus to payout. (unless someone can figure out how to trick the system, and I can say for sure it’s not fooled by using a different email address)

The other theory is that you just need to wait at least 6 months, like the debit card, but I’m not so sure.

I guess I need to wait until the offer is $60 or $75, which should be in a year or two.

Can we get the reloadable deal if we still have a target debit card?

Placed an online order of $53, which has a promotional $10 gift card included. After $50 coupon, it was about $2. Successfully placed the order, but it was cancelled immediately due to payment issues. Is it because the $10 promo gift card?

Not sure if this helps, but when Target has a promo gift card, it charges the amount of the gift card and deducts from the original order. So if you have a $53 order with a $10 promo card, you will be charged $43 for the order and $10 for the gift card.

So if it’s a coupon you’re using and needed to hit $50, then that might be the issue.

Bingo. Mark would need to spend AT LEAST $10 over the $50, not counting TAX. Which is still worth it, but otherwise the system implodes.

Thanks. The order got automatically cancelled, and the $50 coupon also disappeared from the account. I had to chat with an agent and he was able to manually deduct the 50 from a new order.

I can’t find the promotional “fine print” for the reloadable card, it has an asterisk but then it doesn’t take me to offer details

I got in the mail today and was gonna shop in store today

My reloadable card just arrived, but I can’t find any terms for the promotion. If I buy $10 grocery and take $40 cash from the register when I check out, would that qualify for a $50 coupon?

“The $50 transaction must occur in one transaction at a Target location or at target.com; if you get cash back at the register during your purchase, the transaction will not qualify for this promotion.”

Does the $50 attach to the target gift card and no longer is a paper coupon?

Debit card comes with a paper coupon. You scan it into your Target app. Single use. Online OR in-store.

Reloadable comes with nothing. You spend, then get a account credit 20-30 days later.
