[Ends Soon] Aven: Free $5 Weekly Starbucks/Dunkin Giftcard If You Have 700+ Vantage 4.0 Credit Score + Homeowners

Looks like the number of weeks left varies by person

Update 7/13/25: ‘All good things must come to an end. Enjoy free coffee on us for the next 2 weeks, and then stick around after that for the occasional free coffee raffle.’

Update 6/1/25: Promo now states ‘Get a free $5 gift card every week for 2 to 52 weeks’. Hat tip to Tikky

Update 4/21/25: You can now get a $5 Dunkin card instead of Starbucks if you’d prefer.

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Aven is offering a $5 weekly Starbucks if you have a Vantage 4.0 credit score of 700+ and you’re a home owner and you link one bank account via Plaid

Our Verdict

Fair bit of data to give over, but a $5 weekly gift card is nice. Make sure you don’t select the credit card option as that will sign up in one click. Feel free to share your referral invite codes in this linked post (click here), do not share them in the comments below.

In order to get referral bonuses you have to re-link through Plaid a second time by:

  • Click User icon top right
  • Payout History
  • Link Plaid to bank account again

Hat tip to 007

I posted in the referral thread, and it claimed to be spam, even though I had not posted previously.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to delete connected external accounts without deleting the Aven account? I can’t seem to find anyway

got cut off from gift cards and now in the raffle, so decided to delete my account. Deleted it yesterday, couldn’t figure out how to remove plaid access to my linked bank acct tho. Figured deleting acct would do this, but also changed PW to my connected bank as well. Today so far I have gotten 2 alerts from my linked bank for invalid password attempts. I assume Aven still has my info and is the one doing this, as it started the day after.

I’m concerned about this issue. Class action lawsuit? ha

I can’t friggin believe they don’t offer any option to delete or remove accounts. It’s truly unbelievable. I was thinking to delete my account but reading your comment that deleting the account still doesn’t seem to remove the linked banks.. that is very concerning tbh. thanks for sharing!

It’s friggin annoying. I ended up creating a Plaid account and disconnected my accounts that way. Not all banks have procedures to kill the access on their end. I’m still having issues with Discover on that front. For some reason, it’s not on the Plaid portal and Discover says they can’t de-link it.

yeah!!! I agree.. how they can have YOUR external bank accounts locked in FOREVER with no way to delete or disconnect seems absolutely insane.. thanks for the idea of creating a Plaid account I’ll look into doing it that way

Tommy Turns out my Discover link was under a different phone number with Plaid. Once I created yet another Plaid portal account with that phone number I was able to delink it.

You have to go to plaid login and disable access or go to your bank website and deauthorize access

Asked to connect an account i receive paycheck in. Connected one that only has a few thousands and only part of my paycheck check goes there to cover mortgage and it said 6 more weeks…. Should’ve connected my 1M+ brokerage account …

I wonder if it’s based on the number of transactions. I guess maybe I should have connected my main account, but they asked for the one that gets my paycheck/pension direct deposit.

Logged in to Aven today and saw the message saying I’d have to connect another bank account(s) to get Starbucks Gift Cards.

Proceeded to do it and now it’s showing 52 more weeks of free Starbucks GCs.

“All good things must come to an end. Enjoy free coffee on us for the next 52 weeks, and then stick around after that for the occasional free coffee raffle.

Claim Your Free Starbucks® Now
Get Starbucks on us for 52 more weeks.

[Buy Me a Coffee]”

All good now, another year of $5 weekly Starbucks GCs.

Fast forward to 2 weeks later, today, when I logged in to my Aven account earlier, my account was already disconnected and I had to reconnect using Plaid. Now they asked me to join Waitlist for this promotion (Starbucks).. Unbelievable. Was supposed to still have 50 weeks left.

Same with my SO.

That’s super crappy. Was it Chase? A few weeks back the connection with Chase got screwed up and I couldn’t reconnect it so I connected with US Bank. Now I still have a message about Chase not being connected, but I got 22 weeks of free Starbucks with US Bank so I’m not going to change it now. You could try support but I’ve had mixed results with them.

Not Chase. Ally bank.

Updated it 2 weeks ago and it was working fine for 2 weeks and all of a sudden this happened. It’s almost like they purposely disconnected on their end so that I wouldn’t get the 52-week promo anymore. Sketchy for sure.

Checked again tonight and it worked again for me and my SO. 50 weeks left.

Maybe it was indeed a bug/glitch morning? Who knows.

Signed up. Have home/mortgage in qualifying state, and have not frozen bureaus but it says that I am ineligible right now because I do not have a home in a qualifying state.

Says that I need to connect a bank account with direct deposits showing 100k in income. Starting to get a bit creepy.

They are telling me my debt to income is too high and that I have to add more accounts to get the Starbucks card, yet I am preapproved for their credit card Lol.

Apparently I had to “connect a bank account to continue getting free coffee”. More like reauthenticate my connection through Plaid I guess.

Now it shows 22 more weeks of free coffee.

I linked my bank account but still getting the “connect a bank account to continue getting free coffee

Does it take some time?

I had to do that too. I added my Laurel Road account that gets my monthly pension direct deposit to get the $10 before I transfer it elsewhere. Then I got the two more weeks of free coffee message :(.

Same here, only 2 weeks for me. Actually 1 week after redeeming this week’s. I’m wondering if the users with the shorter time left on this promo were the ones that have been getting it for a while already

Bill
Bill (@guest_2100457)
July 16, 2025 11:12

But I still haven’t gotten close to 52 weeks of gift cards. And yeah, my two weeks went down to one after redeeming.

I’m not seeing in the Aven app that the promo ends in 2 weeks. It’s asking me to link my bank account and when I try to use a Chase account it’s not working…

Chase didn’t work for me over multiple attempts over multiple days. I then tried US Bank and it worked fine so must be an issue with Chase.

mine says both 2 more weeks, and elsewhere 52 weeks (so who knows)
