Update 4/17/26: Synchrony has provided the following statement regarding issues with the triple rewards promotion:
The Venmo promotion’s triple cash back rewards are delivered in accordance with the Venmo Credit Card’s Reward Terms, so they may not appear in your balance immediately. Cardholders can expect to see their rewards reflected by the close of their next statement period. We appreciate customers’ patience and encourage anyone with questions to review the promotion terms or contact Venmo Credit Card Support by calling the number on the back of their card.
Update 3/29/26: Targeted offer is being sent out again, expires 6/25/26. This round is better at triple cashback for 6 months. That means 9% on the top category, 6% on the second category, 3% everywhere else. No limit other than your credit limit (likely low). Hat tip to reader T

Our Verdict
Lots of people are seeing this offer – not sure if it’s showing for everyone in the Venmo app or it’s targeted to select users via email. The 2% everywhere isn’t very exciting, but 6% and 4% could be interesting, e.g. if you spend a lot on restaurants or grocery stores you can get 6% on that top category with no limit for almost 7 months with no apparent limit.
As noted in the card details, only the following categories are eligible to get the Top Category rate: Dining & Nightlife, Travel, Bills & Utilities, Health & Beauty, Grocery, Gas, Transportation, Entertainment.
