Bank of America has sent out a survey regarding a possible new credit card. Most of the questions related to offering a 3% category that cardholders could choose. It looks like there might be a total of six categories to choose from (although we don’t have specific on what those categories would be). Bank of America does sent out these types of surveys before releasing new cards, they sent out a survey about the Premium Rewards card in December 2016, before the card was launched September 2017.
This 3% pick your own category isn’t unique, Huntington Bank offers such a card. Bank of America has also sent out a previous survey regarding possible changes to the Bank of America Cash Rewards card that would also offer a pick your own 3% category. I don’t think 3% categories are particularly exciting given how many cards offer 2%+ cash back on all purchases, but paired with Bank of America’s Preferred Rewards things get more interesting.
