[Extended] Capital One Adds Ability To Redeem Miles For Restaurant Delivery, Takeout & Streaming Services (1¢ Per Point)

Update 9/18/20: This has been extended through December 31, 2020. Hat tip to DDG

Update 5/29/20: This has been extended until September 30th, 2020.

Capital One has added the ability for Venture & VentureOne cardholders to redeem miles for eligible restaurant delivery, takeout and streaming service purchases until June 30th, 2020. Cardholders will be able to redeem miles for 1¢ per point against these purchases (e.g make a purchase at a participating merchant and then you can apply points to these purchases after they post to your account by selecting ‘Cover Your Purchases’).

Was not able to erase a purchase multiple times on Venture One. Are you guys literally clicking multiple times in a fraction of a second?

Looking at the redemption T&C’s for my Cap 1 Venture, redemption towards wireless phone services is also included through 12/31/20

I was able to redeem Venture miles at this rate (1 cent per point) toward Apple in-app purchases. These had posted to my Venture account as “Apple.” That must have been considered “streaming.”

Nice move to allow people to more easily redeem points at a fair rate, at a time when many will be glad to trade points for the equivalent of cash back.

American Express needs to do this, too.

Erased all food, internet, travel, Tidal, even Amazon purchases for 1 cent per point. But selecting one by one is a pain in the butt.

Remember, you can erase the same charge multiple times, so just pick the biggest one available and keep mashing the button on it.

Are there any valid/sensible reasons to use this feature rather than cash back?

Cash back is normally 0.5cpp with this card. This is a 1cpp offer for cash back for certain purchases, temporarily.

Yes, cash back is .5 cent per point. Venture is a glorified 2% cash back card. The redeeming features are the free Global Entry and the Welcome Bonus.

I was able to “erase” charges in the dining and phone/cable categories with my Venture at 1cpp. Paypal also showing eligible. Spotify not eligible.

Interesting find on the paypal! Do you just use the paypal for any online transactions and it shows eligible “to be erased”? TIA
