Chase has sent out a letter to it’s J.P. Morgan Palladium Cardholders that on July 17th their card will be converted to a J.P. Morgan Reserve card. The J.P. Morgan Reserve card is basically a carbon copy of the Chase Sapphire Reserve card, the only difference is that the card looks different.
There are a couple of important things to note for existing Palladium cardholders.
- You will receive a $145 annual fee refund
- You can continue to use your Palladium card until it needs to be replaced
- If you’ve spent $75,000 from the beginning of your card member year through July 16th you will receive 35,000 bonus points
- If you requested United Club membership (unpublished benefit) you will keep this benefit with your new card
Given that the Palladium card is targeted towards people with $10,000,000+ with J.P. Morgan it’s surprising that this card doesn’t come with additional benefits compared to the Chase Sapphire Reserve. Chase Private Clients also don’t get any increased benefits and are directed to apply for the Chase Sapphire Reserve as well.
