Our Verdict

Don’t think there is really any play here, but not that familiar with either airport so not sure what they have available. If anybody uses either offer then let us know what you purchased in the comments below.

At the top of the page I opened: “Earn an additional 10 Ultimate Rewards® points per $1 spent (on a maximum of $100 in purchases) when you shop and dine at participating merchants at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) using your Chase Sapphire® or Chase Freedom® cards in the Chase Pay® app anywhere Samsung Pay® is accepted.”

There’s not really any way to MS this. None of these stores sell gift cards per airport policy. It’s a great deal if you have to buy something at the airport anyway or if you’re on an expense account. Also most of the stores don’t take Chase Pay (in fact, I don’t know of a single one that does) so you can only use this if you use it via Samsung Pay, which effectively limits this promo to people who have a Samsung smartphone, a Chase credit card, and a trip through one of these two airports. Doubt we’ll see many people take advantage of this.

Well yes, the links to the Chase website in the post specifically mention that this is only doable via Samsung Pay. So Chase is perfectly aware of this promo’s target audience.

I tired using it earlier this month in CLT and the restaurant, although it had the banners advertising the promotion, wasn’t able to figure out how to use Chase Pay unfortunately

Since Chase Pay is 5x category his quarter, are we talking an extra 10x on top of that for a total 15x?

Why no?

The bonus points earned will be in addition to the points you already earn on purchases with your Chase Ultimate Rewards eligible card.

If either of these places have a CVS or Walgreens, this would be insane…

Read the fine print. “Participating merchants” only. I suppose Will could have emphasized this in the post as well.

According to the link, “participating merchants” only includes select stores operated by Paradies Lagardère (https://paradieslagardere.com/what-we-do/) at this time. I doubt decent GCs are available at any of them.

It seems these airports are Beta Testing. Because they also were the first to do facial recognition in place of physical tickets.
