Reddit user Rarvyn was checking to see if they were eligible for the 100,000 point American Express platinum offer available via CardMatch and noticed they were targeted for the Chase Sapphire Preferred. Interestingly this application contained the old 24 month language, rather than the new 48 month language. Referral links are also still showing that 24 month language, so using those would be a better option for now. That being said in branch pre-approvals by pass the 5/24 rule so if it’s still 24 months in branch then this is potentially very useful for some people. It looks like using the regular Chase pre-qualified checker will show the 24 month language as well, not just CardMatch.
Additionally, the actual CSP application page also listed a promo for a CSR. Clicking thru it and checking the offer terms yields 48-month language. Those offer details are here https://creditcards.chase.com/a1/sapphire/reserve/offer-details.
Interesting that the 24-month language is only being offered for CSP and not CSR. Probably because the Pre-Qual is for CSP and not CSR.
Thanks as always, Yar!
So, it seems that Chase can show you as prequalified for CSP, etc. even if you are well over 5/24. I assume your app will still be rejected despite the prequalification, right?
Just got approved in-branch for CSR this week (bypassing 6/24), will confirm…
With your prompt, Chase will change it tonight. 🙂
Just like they changed referrals. *eye roll*
deleted.
Are in branch paper apps with a Business account rep for a business Sapphire card still getting around 5/24 rules.
I know in branch pre-approvals do it, I thought they stopped the paper apps.
Yes, but they use docusign now
