Bilt announced today that rent payments in the Bilt system using the Chase United cards now earn 2x points per dollar. Paying rent with a credit card on Bilt costs 3% (with the exception of payments with the Bilt credit card which are fee).
This works on Chase United Gateway, United Explorer, United Quest, United Club, and United Presidential Plus cards. (United business does not work.) One mile per dollar posts to your MileagePlus account under “Bilt Rent Cardmember Bonus Miles,” while the other mile appears on your credit card statement in the “United MileagePlus Award Miles Summary.”
It looks like you won’t earn any Bilt points on the transaction when paying with United. And so I believe your rent payment options are as follows:
- Bilt card 1x, no fee: If you have a Bilt card, you can pay with your Bilt card with no fee and you’ll get 1x Bilt points per dollar, up to 100,000 points per year.
- United card 2x & 3% fee: You can pay a 3% fee to pay your rent with an eligible United card and earn 2x United miles per dollar. You won’t get any Bilt points if you choose this option.
- Alaska card 3x & 3% fee: You can pay a 3% fee to pay your rent with the Alaska Visa Signature card and earn 3x Alaska miles per dollar. You won’t get any Bilt points if you choose this option.
- Any card .5x & 3% fee: You can pay a 3% fee to pay your rent with any credit card – you’ll get 1 Bilt point per $2 spent, plus of course your regular credit card rewards.
- ACH, 250 points: You can pay with ACH and earn 250 Bilt points per rent payment.
