Citi has sent out an e-mail to Citi Strata Elite cardholders affected by the 4506-C form issue informing them of two things:
- The $595 annual fee will be effectively refunded with a $595 statement credit being issued. If authorized users were charged to the account you’ll also receive a $75 statement credit per authorized user.
- You do not need to minimum the minimum spend requirement to receive the 100,000 points.
I suspect the recent WSJ article highlighting these issues played a part in this huge concession from Citi.
Obviously this is huge for those affected. I’d make sure you actually received the e-mail before celebrating and even then Citi’s IT department is so notoriously bad I wouldn’t be surprised if this isn’t the end of the saga.
