Delta has launched a new feature for Medallion Members called ‘Reclaim My Status‘. This lets elite members get status back after major life events (such as becoming a parent, moving jobs, going back to school, medical issues, becoming a carer).
You need to provide documentation of that life event and if successful you’ll get your higher tier status back for three months, this can then be extended beyond those three months by hitting requirements that vary by tier.
Personally I see this as a win/win, Delta gets elites back that might have considered moving brands after a major life event and flyers get status back.
Does this also match status if your elite level was a CC benefit?
Wish United would follow. in the process of planning and paying for a wedding and I just don’t have the time to fly as much.
So I did the match challenge for the delta platinum and unfortunately didn’t meet all the requirements to obtain platinum in 3 months. Do you think if I submit documents showing why I couldn’t reach it, theywould extend it for another 3 months.
Doubt it, but worth a try
I submitted a request for “Reclaim My Award Chart” based on my life event of recurring devaluation of my Skymiles. Will report back.
hilarious…. *eye roll*
What if you did suffer through several ‘major life events’ but never had status to begin with? Or had a different Delta FF number yonks ago? You could tell them you were golden (or whatever). Think it would fly?
lol no. they can see what status you had in prior years, and can pull up previous FF numbers and names. Why not just fly and earn status like you’re supposed to?
Hopefully it would crash so that jerk moves like this do not ruin things for everyone.
