Disneyland To Raise Prices By Up To 23% (50% For FastPass Upgrade)

Disneyland has announced ticket price increases of up to 23%. Less than a year ago prices were also increased by up to 18%. In 2016 they introduced demand pricing further spiking prices during peak periods. It’s likely that these current round of price increases are as a result of the $1 billion Stars Wars expansion ‘Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge’. The current round of increases took place on 1/6/19.

Fortunately the biggest price increases are on annual passes, all day passes or multi day passes will be increasing by no more than 10%. The biggest increase will be on the MaxPass, this will be increasing from $10 to $15 and allows guests to book FastPasses on their smartphones.

I always preferred watching Looney Tunes as a kid and never understood the obsession with Disney. Would much rather go to Cedar Point than Disneyland.

I like Busch Gardens and SeaWorld better. Much better roller coasters.

Was at Disneyland at the beginning of December for four days with the wife, kids and mother in law. Everyone had a great time but the cost is crazy and the last day when the rain finally stopped, you basically couldn’t move in either park, it was so crowded. I think it’s only a matter of time before Disneyland effectively eliminates the southern California pass.

I actually researched this a little when we were in Europe over the summer. The reviews were terrible for the Paris park, most of them called out bad service and unhappy staff as I recall. We didn’t end up going to France and based on reviews we’d not have visited if we had.

No they’re pretty much the same, and you definitely get cheaper DisneyWorld tickets.

You could travel the world for the price of going to Disney. Travel the world.

I hear this about Disney fairly frequently. I suppose because people price a Disney vacation and freak! But I say do both. Go to Disney, travel the world and repeat. It’s not an either-or proposition!

Most people do have limited assets to drop toward vacations, so choosing becomes necessary. Especially Disney vacations where you can’t get big banks to pay for your trip.

If you think DL is bad – price out a Disney Cruise for a family of four vs the other main lines. There is literally nothing they could do on that trip to make it worth the $$$

Before it got shut down, was able to church Disney gift cards and paid 50% for a Disney cruise. Next time was like 20% off plus the 10% off for onboard placeholder and then now at best getting between 10-20% off Disney gift cards. Gets harder and harder to get discounted gift cards and the prices on the cruises and the parks just keep going up. Will be interested to see the prices on the new ships. Maybe 25-50% more than current prices would be my guess.

ssedlc, what do you mean by “church” Disney gift cards? Was that a typo?
