Our Verdict
Reload bonus seems good. bonuses on the 13th and 16th also seem like a good way to get a free drink, the others are probably less useful unless you’d usually be doing that anyway. I’m not a big fan of Dunkin Donuts, but I’ll post these as I do with Starbucks as I know many readers are fans and free is free. Also if you already have auto reload on, I’d try turning it off and then back on tomorrow to see if it triggers the points.
That happened to me, too. SO when you’re logging in to Masterpass, there should be a “create a new wallet” or “sign up” option. Don’t use your Citibank user ID and password. After you sign up, you can add any credit card (you’re not limited to just Mastercards). After you sign up, when you enter your email address to sign in (and if you have the same email address tied to your Citipay and your different Masterpass account), you’ll be able to select which one you want to log in to.
I signed up today and disnt recieve my $5 bonus
The email I got today said the masterpass promotion is only for NEW dd perks members.
Never mind, I just bought a $2 card in my app and got the free $5. Also turned auto reload on and got 200 pts. Merged the two gift cards in my app.
Can you reload multiple times to get multiple $5 credits? Don’t see them saying anywhere that you can’t 😉
Does it have to be a Capital One mastercard? The DD website keeps asking me to log into Capital One to pay with Masterpass. Then I get a message saying I have no eligible cards.
I had the same problem. I have a Capital One card in my Masterpass, but preferred using a different card. So, I used a different browser and cleared cache… When I signed into DD that time, Masterpass was there without the Capital One logo.
Minimum $2 load.
How? The email says that but the app minimum is 10
Reload thru their website. The minimum is only $2 there.
Thank you for this. 🙂
Web interface is $2 on mobile and desktop.
or it looks like you can do monthly reload and then just turn it off.
so wait how much do you have to reload to your acct to get the masterpass $5 bonus? does any amt work, incld w/e their min for reload is?
follow up: sweet, just added a new $2 DDperks card & $5 bonus promo automatically got added to that new card. when I logged into masterpass, it forced me to sign into citipay for some reason. so was forced to use a citi card, no other banks/cards were available. not a big deal but just thought it was odd.
if anyone knows how to not have that happen in the future, I’d appreciate a heads up. if theres a way to keep it separate from citipay or if theres a way to add other bank cards to my masterpass profile?
Seems like MasterPass is tied to your bank account login. I had Capital One set up, but wanted to use a different card, so I set up MasterPass with that account (from the bank login). Then to get the generic MasterPass option to show up in the DD account, I used a different browser and cleared cache… When I signed into DD that time, Masterpass was there without the Capital One logo.
Visa Checkout is so much easier, but a deal’s a deal. 🙂
