Our Verdict

I got this one, and some readers sent it in too. 13% is terrific, just requires using the app. I’m not sure if we’ve ever seen anything over 10% (I vaguely recall one other offer like this one). Shopping portals don’t work for these app offers, but readers have noted you can use Ibotta in conjunction with the eBay app. We always appreciate those who shop through our eBay affiliate link.

For ease of use… use desktop/laptop to find and add the products you want to your cart. Then go to the mobile app and check out.

Just at the right time! Purchased an LG soundbar 2.1 system for my television setup. And no sales tax!

FYI: You can add items to your cart on desktop (better visibility/search-ability), and complete the payment on your app to get bigger (currently 13%) in-app bonus ($25+ item).

FYI: just bought a $25 item and an $11 in the same checkout and paid $36 using eBay GC. Bonus bucks were only applied to $25 item, the $11 got the standard 1%.

Based on the full terms, it looks like you need to buy an item $25 or more.

I just noticed this too. Unlike in the past, the $25 minimum is per item, not the total order.

Doc, correct me if I’m wrong but pretty sure 15% ebucks was offered one time in 2018.

But let’s face it 13% is a great offer. I believe Ebates/Rakuten app should work, Ibotta probably the safer bet tho. And Hopefully 15% off $75 is coming at least once here in Q2.

helps a bit with the bs sales tax they’re collecting on everything now, someone needs to make a competitor to ebay

I can’t remember the last time I received a targeted eBay Bucks offer. Is there a trick to getting these?

Edit: Ok, I’ve gotten the ones that are specific to a category or limited range of products. I’m looking for a sitewide discount or Bucks offer.

Yes, you have to subscribe to their marketing emails to be targeted. It’s under Account –> Communication Preferences –> Promotions and Surveys –> General email promotions

I tried turning it off because the emails are annoying and frequent, but then I stopped being targeted, and when I turned it back on I became targeted again.
