Chuck. You can never really tell which posts made a big difference on a certain reader. But here is an example.
In my calculation you saved me $236 with this post and here is how:
(1) I was able to use 5 eBay accounts to buy 5 times 3 BP gas cards from the above link, I used the Freedom for 5% back and paid $1,410 total (15 cards x $94) thats $70.5 savings!
(2) The discount for each BP card is $6 off $100, for my 15 cards its $90 in savings!
(3) Here in Brooklyn, BP is currently at $2.85 a gallon for CC and $2.75 Cash/gift card so by paying with $1,500 in gift cards, I save 545 times 10c which is $54.5 savings!
(4) BP driver rewards gives you 10c off a fill up for every $100 spent, my SUV takes 15 gallons, so after the first $100 I get 14 fill ups for the 15 cards, so 14 times 15 gallons times 10c that’s another $21 savings!
Total $236 Savings in gas over the next 4 months.

Does Amex track that these are gift cards to not give credit for Minimum Spend, or is Ebay not a problem?

Dumb question: For the first time I have eBay bucks… can I use them on these? I looked at the terms and it seemed to only point out that I can’t use them to buy eBay gift cards.
Looks like I could. Thanks for the post. Got a Meijer GC and was able to use my $10 eBay bucks. Not bad for a place I shop regularly (and you can buy gift cards with Meijer gift cards).
