Has The FNBO TravElite Been Discontinued?

FNBO offers a credit card called the TravElite (listed as one of our best credit cards). The card is interesting because it offers a 25,000 point bonus and a $100 travel credit with no annual fee. A user on /r/churning noticed that the card was no longer available for sign up online. I reached out to FNBO and received the following response:

We first offered the American Express TravElite card in our retail branches in a campaign that ran April 6 through May 31.  During this time, you would have seen the TravElite card featured on our website.  Once the campaign ended, we removed the card from our website.

Subsequently, we initiated a direct mail campaign to pre-approved prospects nationally on May 3.  This direct mail offer will be valid until June 28.

We haven’t set a date for when we might renew the offer.  Please let me know if you have further questions.  Thank you.

It looks like this is just part of the normal life cycle at FNBO and I’m not overly worried about the card being discontinued for current users. Hopefully, readers that wanted the card have already applied for it, if you have a mail out offer to keep in mind that June 28th deadline. You can read more about FNBO cards by clicking here.

William Charles FNBO TravElite has been officially axed. Received a letter today that my card is changing to a “Complete Rewards” VISA. 1.5 points, no more travel cash back.

I don’t see a specific change regarding the $100 travel credit, but I don’t see it in the fine print, and since it’s no longer a travel card I assume it’s gone.

Change is effective 4/25/2021

Came here to report the same thing. We were given an 11-page T&Cs but no pricing details. I see that the PenFed Pathfinder Rewards card which was similar still exists in some form as a Visa now, but with a $95 annual fee which can be waived. That one still has the TSA PreCheck or Global Entry credit.

Just got the same offer. No relationship with FNBO but was actually looking into this card the other day on their website.

I got this as well; $250 sign up bonus, $100 travel credit, $100 Global Entry, no AF.

I have never had an account with FBNO, so maybe they’re trying to lure in some new customers?

The offer is good until the end of January 2018.

Got the mail offer today, but there is an annual fee of $49 in the terms, for the same $250 Bonus, global entry and 100 credit as before.

Wow, thanks for the update Shaun!

If I knew how to guarantee a mailer, I would have signed up for some other FNBO card in hopes of getting this one. Do you have a relationship with FNBO already?

Are you going to get this card?

If not, are you interested receiving compensation if the code on your mailer works for someone else?

I was targeted by mail, maybe because I have an FNBO Direct savings account (from back when they offered high interest rates).

I applied and got the card. I tried to use the link again today with my “unique” reservation code, and it’s still allowing for an application to be submitted (but with no confirmation of the sign-up offer).

Has anyone tried sharing the code for additional applicants before?

I volunteer to be that data point!

Can I use your unique reservation code to submit an application? I would love to get the bonus, but I think this card is worth getting even without it. I found out about it too late.

If you don’t mind sharing, my email address is meade18 (at) gmail.

Hi there Chris! I was wondering if you managed to get a code, perhaps someone’s duplicate, and if you were able to apply. I’m very interested in this card which of course I just found out about. If you have a spare, I was wondering if I could request it and see if I can sneak an application through. Thanks and sorry for the random message. I’m available at elementalblade (at) gmail

Steve actually did send me his code. Unfortunately, his email went to my spam folder and I didn’t see it until it was too late. I tried to use the code and was told it was expired.

Thanks for responding Chris. What a shame though! I wonder why the website for card is still up then? It still has an active link to the “reply” page where it asks for the reference code. Seems unusual they’d leave it up if all the target codes are considered expired. Did you try incognito or anything of that nature? I’m still intrigued. Thanks.

Today is the last day to apply for this card (for those that received mail invitation).

I have applied and got automatically approved.

No idea how I got targeted (never had a relationship with FNBO before) – Despite being close to 30/24, I was still targeted (direct mail with code) and was instantly approved on 5/10. Completed my spend & SM says I should receive my bonus soon after next statement close on July 15th.

DP on the $100 Travel Benefit: MPX Amazon purchase on 5/24 – categorized as “Airline” but no reimbursement as of 6/9.

Was it a pre-approval mailer with an offer code?
