Waste of time! All the 3 starbucks locations in my area tried to scan my paypal app and it didnt work!

Got it working from the app but paypal charged my checking account instead of the default payment method (my CFF). Ah well, it was $2

Not the biggest of deals but keep in mind that the Chase Flex rotating 5% cash back category includes PayPal purchases, so if you’re going to use this deal and have that card, make sure that’s the one that’s linked. $2 ends up being $1.90 and then up from there depending on how much you decide to load.

Update: I could buy a $5 gc in the app and got an email from Paypal confirm the discount. “You authorized a transaction to Starbucks – Seattle, WA. You saved $3.00 USD with your Special Offer.”

I clipped the PP coupon, and got notified by email saying I’m enrolled. However at the Starbucks checkout page, it’s still showing charging $5 to my gift card. I don’t see the $3 taken off. Does it mean that Paypal did not apply my coupon successfully?

it will show $5 at starbucks checkout but paypal will only charge you $2 in the paypal receipt.

Thanks! I can confirm this was the behavior. I loaded only $2 to square cash and charged $5 using PP. The transaction was successful so it means I was only charged $2

If you are doing this 2 or more times with a P2..Pn Paypal account and same Starbucks account, you need to go into your Starbucks account settings and delete the Paypal account each time you complete a purchase. If not, it does not even give you the option to select a Paypal account or the associated card. Soon as you hit “Paypal” it makes the purchase with the previously used Paypal acount and CC that was previously used. I wasted one $5 purchase this way – at least got 5% CB for it.
