The Offer
- Google Fi is offering a free year of YouTube Premium ($119.99 value) for their Premium unlimited wireless customers.
Our Verdict
Google Fi’s premium unlimited plan costs $65/month (or as low as $40/month when you have a group of 4 subscribers). Nice perk to get the YouTube Premium thrown in. I wonder if this can be gamed by subscribing for one month to get the free year of YouTube Premium, but presumably Google will stop that from working.
You can just use an adblocker and never have ads on Youtube for free
VPN through India and you can get youtube premium for ~1.50 a month.
That’s down from ~1.70 a month since last year because the rupee is weakening.
Received e-mail from Google FI (I already had the Unlimited plan), was able to activate with no issues.
Great, thanks Google. I already pay for YouTube Premium family plan so I get nothing. 🙁
You have to leave the family plan and then each member of your Fi plan can sign up for YouTube Premium on their own. That’s what the FAQ says anyway: https://support.google.com/fi/answer/12999259?visit_id=638043911448127276-1212852200&p=ytpremium_fi&rd=1
I’m in the same situation and will be doing this shortly.
I was already subscribed to YouTube Premium and got this offer. It seemed to have no problem applying this to my account, and https://www.youtube.com/paid_memberships now lists my Premium membership as “Provided by Google Fi”
Just got this offer on a Google Fi I got for free for being a Google Maps contributor. I’ll take it!
What did you get for free again? Google Fi or YouTube and what is your google fi plan?
I got sent free Google Fi Unlimited for the rest of 2022 a month or two ago, and because of that I’m now getting free YouTube Premium.
Regarding gaming this by subscribing for one month, the offer terms state:
“During the term of the Benefit, each Fi member must maintain an active subscription to a Fi Unlimited Plus service plan.”
