The Fine Print
- This promotion is open to Iberia Plus members resident worldwide.
- Qualifying rentals must be booked and taken between 04 October and 15 December 2018.
- To qualify, rental must include a weekend and rental length must be minimum 3 days and minimum car group C or above. The bookings must include a Saturday night to Sunday.
- Rentals must be booked on iberia.com, rentacar-iberia.com, avis.es or with the Avis Call Centre.
- Valid for all participating rental locations in the following European countries: Spain mainland, Balearics and Canaries, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy, Portugal, the Netherlands and United Kingdom. Offer subject to vehicle availability.
- Rentals must include the Iberia Plus membership number of the first named driver (the “renter”). This Iberia Plus membership number must be given at time of reservation and the card shown at time of rental.
- Qualifying rentals will receive a minimum award of 9,000 Avios for each rental if you book and rent between 04 October and 15 December 2018. Maximum award would be 10,000 Avios per rental.
- This Avios bonus is not valid on Corporate AWD rentals, Prestige rentals, Chauffeur Drive or Van rentals worldwide.
- Offer may not be used in conjunction with any other coupon, promotion or frequent flyer points offer. Conjunctive or concurrent rentals will not qualify, in these circumstances only the first rental to be completed will qualify. Avis reserves the right to withdraw the offer at any time.
- Vehicles must be collected and returned on the dates booked. Any cars not checked out and returned as per the booking will not qualify.
- The awarding of Avios may take up to 8 weeks from date of rental.

Our Verdict
I did a few test bookings but couldn’t find anything exceptionally cheap. This reminds me a bit of Iberia flight promotion where you could earn 9,000 Avios per flight up to 90,000. It looks like with this promotion the cheapest car rental bookings are much more expensive and you’ll actually need to complete the booking. Still might make sense for people with plans to Europe I guess. American Express is also offering a 40% transfer bonus to Iberia currently as well if you need to top off an account.
Will, they did this exact promotion two years ago except the reward was 18,000 Avios and no strings attached! I took advantage and even with parking costs it wound up being cheaper than public transportation costs for me and my two companions!
Wish that would come back
this offer also comes with points clawback and shutdown, but the miles expire in 90 days before complimentary account reinstatement.

So if you put that you are from Spain, 3 nights at an off airport location are 50 euro total. If you put that you are from the US, the same rental is 105 euros.
