IHG Acquires Luxury Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spa For $300 Million

Update 7/21/19: TPG is reporting that Six Senses properties are starting to show up in IHG rewards searches, but they currently error out when booking. I imagine IHG is aiming to add all Six Sense properties before making them bookable. You’d expect that to happen with an official announcement on Monday.

IHG has announced that they are acquiring Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas for $300 million. Six Senses manages a total of 16 hotels and resorts (1,347 total rooms), with another 18 management contracts in the pipeline and a further 50 deals in ‘active discussion’. This follows on from IHG’s expansion into the luxury market with the previous Kimpton & Regent acquisition. At this stage it’s not clear when Six Senses will be rolled into IHG.
