Short answer:
- Chase INK Cash – No (probably not)
- Chase INK Unlimited – There is a chance on getting a match
Long answer:
Historically, Chase had always consistently matched credit card signup bonuses when the offer was increased. A number of years ago they stopped consistently matching.
Eventually, they seemed to settle into a pattern of matching offers on their own bank cards (e.g. Sapphire, Freedom, INK, etc), and not matching for co-branded card offers (e,g. Southwest, Hyatt, etc).
And so we were hoping they would match the new 90,000 points signup bonus on the INK Cash and INK Unlimited cards.
Unfortunately, the data points came in with a large mix. Most were not getting a match.
Astute observers note that the INK Cash card spend details are a different structure under the new 90k offer versus the old 75k offer. Whereas previously there was a tiered spend offer, the new offer is a straightforward $6k/90k offer. That might be why the bank is not matching the increased INK Cash offer.
More surprising is the mixed reports on the INK Unlimited. While we initially heard multiple positive reports, we later are hearing more who are unsuccessful in getting a match.
There is a chance that some reps are not grasping the distinction between the two offers and are thus declining the INK Unlimited match. It’s not clear if there’s anything to do about it. I suppose you can message back and ask for an escalation.
Appreciate anyone who can share their experiences and data points in the comments below. Kindly note which card, when you messaged, and what the result was. Thanks.
