Update: Lemoney has reached out to clarify that these inactivity/cancellation terms & conditions are not new.
Lemoney shopping portal has sent out an e-mail to to members indicating changes to the terms & conditions. In those terms & conditions it now states that they will start charging dormancy and inactivity fees. There are now three account states:
- “Active” – the status for members who have performed at least one Qualifying Activity (a purchase of at least $25.00 or referral of a friend who makes a purchase of at least $25.00 within 8 months after joining Lemoney) in the past 6 months.
- “Dormant” – the status for members who last performed a Qualifying Activity between 6 and 12 months ago.
- “Inactive” – the status for members who have not performed a Qualifying Activity for more than 12 months. Inactive members may have their account cancelled. If an Inactive account’s balance is zero, the account will be permanently terminated one month after becoming Inactive. If such account’s balance is more than zero, Lemoney reserves the right to deduct a maintenance fee of $5.00 per month from an Inactive account until the account becomes Active again or until the Account Balance reaches zero. When an Inactive account’s balance reaches zero, the account is permanently terminated.
Generally the main reason I won’t use a shopping portal for 12 months is because the rates they offer aren’t competitive to other portals. Adding inactivity fees and threatened to cancel my account outright just means I won’t use Lemoney anymore. Keep in mind that Lemoney also has a $25 minimum payment threshold. Shopping portal Yazing added a 10% fee last month as well.
According to Milenomics community cash back has also been removed.
Hat tip to Matt
I signed up for Lemoney for a Discount tire cash back purchase I made in May of 2019. I just now received an email stating it was approved (7 months later). I clicked the link to redeem and it told me my account was suspended. Their site is definitely a scam.
I have contacted their support for assistance and will give them a chance to fix this. If they don’t, I will report them to the FTC and BBB. I realize that it may not make a difference but I can’t rule out that maybe it will.
My sister lost a good amount with topcashback as after 6 months of inactivity it was terminated as a dormant account.
I actually reached $25.09 and cashed out back in April of 2018.
Since then I’ve accrued another $19 and change…if I can just reach $25 again I’ll cash out and never look at them again…
This is a great. If you just a casual user, it is time to cut the ties.
Stupid inactivity fees.
Welp, there’s $1.64 I’ll never see.
I made the mistake of using them in the first place 🙁
I’ve yet to receive credit for any of my pending CB after months and months. I gave up on this site.
I finally crossed the $25 threshold despite multiple denied and failed trackings. I try to withdraw and it states my account is suspended. No responses. Total scam. Stay away.
Yup, same here.
Absolutely trash company. Never paid out on anything I bought. Literally 0 tracked before I stopped using them.
The $25 minimum for withdrawals and the unbelievably long wait times for purchases to become confirmed and payable are the reason I’m done with them.
I am waiting for my January purchases to be confirmed and cashing out. The new $5 per month inactivity fee is unreasonable.
Im still waiting on early December.
I wish CB monitor sites would just remove these people from their database.
Some sort of “sort by fees” would be a good way to do it I’m sure
