The Monifi banking brand will be discontinued and transitioned into its parent company, MidFirst Bank, on September 21, 2022. A lot of us signed up for Monifi to get the $250 bank bonus. Midfirst Bank is FDIC insured.
You can read an FAQ about the transition at this link.
PSA: Me and p2 got letters today about a breach which may have included socials. They are offering two years of identity theft monitoring. Just an FYI.
Same. Posted my comment here:

Same here. I did not even recognize Midfirst bank at first. Then when I search this bank on DOC, I found that Monifi was acquired by Midfirst.
Monifi was a one-bonus-per-lifetime bank, and I’d already gotten one– now it’s a new bank, and that (likely) means new bonus eligibility!

can we close the account after the bonus hits ?
Did we cause this?
Monifi didn’t let me or P2 open accounts!! My last account was in 2021, still..
At least I was able to rip them off once.
Monifi was good to me. I got the $250, the $20 for “savings goals” and another $300 for 6 referrals just by posting my referral code on a site. Not too shabby.
Glad I got my $250 but found it puzzling that they refused to open an account for my elderly retired mother.
It may be that this company has discovered an unfortunate truth: individual consumers most in need of the budgetig, goal-setting, wealth-building tools that the app offers are the least likely to become regular users.
Do any of the un-bank apps or prepaid cards actually succeed with their target customers?
Seems like banks close these things down all the time. Chase had Finn, fidelity now has bloom. Wonder how long it’ll last.
