Nationwide has announced that effective immediately they will no longer being selling their Visa Buxx cards. If you already have a card, you’ll be able to continue to load funds to your existing Buxx cards and use it where ever Visa is accepted. You’re also still able to add teen cards, I’m not sure if this is intentional or not. Earlier this year they reduced weekly loads to $200 from $500 (an increase in fees from 0.4% to 1%). I suspect the cards will be discontinued completely somewhere in the near future.
