We recently reported on a gift card reselling opportunity at Safeway. Currently, many are reporting an offer in their Safeway for U account to be able to get a 20% discount off Gap gift cards. Others only get the offer of $5 off per $25 Gap gift card which makes it harder to deal with buying multiple $25 gift cards.
Safeway for U Offers
We now found that there are a number of other offers which can be useful, though these are more limited. Check your Safeway for U account to see if you have these offers.
- Sephora – Save $10 from $50
- American Express Serve Card – Save $5
- Spafinder Wellness – Save $5 from $50
- Jiffy Lube – Save $5 from $25
- Bath & Body Works – Save $5 from $50
- Nike – 10x Gas Reward from $50 or more
All of these deals are limited to just one per person, besides the Nike deal and the Gap deal. Let us know if you got other offers from Safeway.
Opportunities
Aside from the Gap deal, two other offers are interesting:
Getting $5 off AmEx Serve card is a good deal. I don’t know how much Safeway charges for the activation fee of a temporary Amex Serve card, it’s usually $1.95 or so. You’ll be able to buy a $500 temporary Serve card for under $500 with the bonus credit card rewards offered at supermarkets.
Note: You can buy this card even if you already have a Serve card. You won’t be able to register it, but it functions as an ordinary Amex gift card and can be used anywhere Amex is accepted.
The Sephora deal is also good, even if you don’t shop there. You can resell the $50 gift card for at least $40 and you’ll have earned some credit card points on the deal.
Note that you’ll be able to earn Safeway Gas Rewards on the gift card purchases. (The Amex Serve deal probably won’t earn gas points.)
