Panera has launched a new rewards program (it’s a pilot program currently with more markets being added). Previously you’d earn freebies based on number of visits and spending (called ‘surprise and delight’ where you didn’t actually know when you would unlock a freebie), the new program will allow users to earn a flat 10 points per $1 spent.
MyPanera+
You can earn the MyPanera+ elite status by either spending $300 annually or by joining Unlimited sip club. Gives you elevated perks and benefits such as You Pick Two meal on your birthday (normally you get a free pastry)
Redemption tiers
- 250 points: Bagel, extra side, mini bakery treat & more
- 500 points: Bakery treat, beverage, fruit cup & more
- 1,000 points: Breakfast entree, oatmeal or yoghurt parfait & more
- 1,500 points: ??
- 2,000 points: ??
Our Verdict
Program doesn’t seem particularly rewarding but I know there were a lot of complaints about the old program and not being sure what you would receive and when. Difficult to compare to the old program when there was no transparency as well. Starbucks recently launched a new loyalty program as well.
