Amazon spokesperson has already stated Prime will not be offering wireless service and has no plans to attempt it.
That doesn’t mean Bloomberg is wrong – Amazon probably did explore and reach out to wireless carriers. But there’s no way it could be done within the current Prime pricing, nor for $10/month…
$10/month would have to be a heavily limited plan. Google Fi is $20/month for unlimited talk/text and pay-as-you-go data, and Fi is one of the cheapest options.
Why are we posting news debunked days ago?
“AT&T is not in discussions with Amazon to resell wireless services,” a company spokesperson said.
Verizon spokesperson the company “is not in negotiations with Amazon regarding the resale of (Verizon’s) wireless network. Our company is always open to new and potential opportunities, but we have nothing to report at this time.”
T-Mobile “said we are not in discussions about inclusion of our wireless in Prime service, and Amazon has told us they have no plans to add wireless service.”

Prime ceased being a decent deal after they added the Fresh delivery fees, imho. Seems like a bad idea to rely on Prime for providing your wireless service. Just another way to keep you locked into the Prime ecosystem.
I think it’s still a good deal if you share it with a household and use it a bunch. And I’ve never used amazon fresh cause the prices were never good, especially when curbside pickup at the grocery store is an option
Yeah, I’m keeping it (under protest) almost exclusively for Prime Video and the occasional purchase. The new Grubhub deals are a nice benefit, but they still don’t really compete with Uber Eats regular 40% off.
If they jack it up to $159 or whatever next year, I’ll probably bail.
The cost of Amazon Prime keeps getting higher. Would be interested to see what the mobile plan looks like.
If it’s anything like their other services then it will have already uploaded recordings of you on the toilet to Facebook. Last week the FTC fined Amazon $5.8 million for compromising cameras. https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/news/press-releases/2023/05/ftc-says-ring-employees-illegally-surveilled-customers-failed-stop-hackers-taking-control-users
