$100 Peet’s for $80 was the best thing at Costco. I am so bummed!

I figured a lot of the shelves at Costco had to go for the physical distancing. At my local Costco they did had web sites and contact info of the restaurants they used to sell gift cards to, urging support.

“Costco Has Stopped Selling Most 3rd Party Gift Cards ”
my guess is they expect a lot of restaurants to go bust and don’t want to have to issue the refunds themselves

Regarding Vietjet paying you for testing positive for COVID, “You also are ineligible if you have a mental illness or epilepsy.” Hmm..

I’ve never been a fan of the crowd and the lounge selection at T2, preferring the cactus and butterfly gardens in the other two main terminals.

Yeah, i guess they don’t a sequel to Moviepass refund

– AMC could close forever, airlines, restaurants and some theme parks could go out of business or bankrupt.

Avi I would buy PF Chang’s and Einstein Bagels there frequently. Some other ones like Granite City and Pinstripes were occasional.

Also GEICO giving 15% back is not generosity. They are probably saving 25% they give back 15% and save themselves headache of people calling. Most definitely they are eating money even while trying to sound generous.

Playing devil’s advocate, would you say the same thing if some crazy event happened and they lost tons of money? Would you be on here complaining that they charged you an extra 15% instead of 25%? We know they are saving money, but they are an Insurance company. I don’t even know why they are giving any money back so quickly. If I was working there, I’d give back a credit at the end of the year when customers submitted their mileage.

You insure risks. What you can already see is not a risk. That people are not driving is obvious. They should rerate their policies.

You don’t need to play devil’s advocate. You can bet they wouldn’t be refunding anything if it meant they were underpricing risk.

Your example of something bad happened is non sensical. Instead, If they knew something bad was going to happen in the future the premiums would increase. What happened in the past is the risk already insured against. If they underpriced it, too bad that is capitalism, they assume the losses.

I am pretty sure if these insurance companies hadn’t refunded questions might get asked at insurance commission offices at least in blue states.

Yeah. Good luck with getting money from airlines. They don’t even return your own money.

Credibility once shot is hard to get back. Like one person with a reputation for lying is finding out everyday.

The difference is that it’s not every airline. Maybe VietJet specifically has a bad reputation. But that’s not really what you’ve said. That’s like saying one person in this group has a bad reputation so therefore all people in this group have a bad reputation.

I got all my money and points back from Aeroplan. I booked in October to fly biz class to Greece with Turkish airlines. Called on 3/31 and they gave me all my money (taxes/fuel surcharge) and points back.
United and British Airways on the other hand won’t refund anything without a hefty fee if your flight is booked after 5/31. I hope I’m wrong about that.

Well I’m certainly NOT flying with them. Given a two week incubation period, that leaves plenty of time to find out if you’re sick and intentionally fly. Seems messed up to do that but for $8k in Vietnam going into a recession? Yeah, people will do that.

As of right now, Vietnam is not expected to go into a recession. Their economic growth has been scaled back, but it is still projected to be positive (I think something like four or five percent from a previous expectation of seven percent, but I could be off).

As for actually claiming the money, the ENTIRETY of Vietnam’s EFFECTIVE CV COVID-19 has been containment and tracing, so they backtrack and keep records of exactly who you’ve been in contact with. It would be conceivable to trace to the day that you got the virus given their system. So no, you can’t just cheat the system to get sick and then intentionally fly.
