- Disgruntled Marriott Employee Hacks Reservations – Slashes Rates to $12-$59 by Point Me To The Plane. Nothing quite like a disgruntled employee on a mission.
- Bill would stop airlines from forcing off passengers by Delmarva Now. Only affects passengers that have already boarded a flight. Seems like a completely reactive law change that in practice wouldn’t really help in most situations, apart from the recent United saga. Personally not a fan of this type of lawmaker, if you’re going to make a change you should at least try to focus on the root cause (overbooking in general or over zealous aviation policing).
- Amex, Challenged by Chase, Is Losing the Snob War by NY Times. Pressure internally has been mounting for some time, looks like that pressure is now coming externally as well. Expect to hear more push back from American Express soon.
RE: Amex CC
Damn you Amex. Stop being such a retard. Step up your game dude. Its not that hard. Fire your entire executive team and replace them. Currently, I see Amex being RIM/BlockBuster and thinking Chase Apple intro of the iPhone means nothing. What a load of short sighted idiots. Chase being the largest bank in the US and eclipsing Amex multiple times in market cap is just creating loss leaders to crush Amex. Unfortunately, their executives took 10 minutes to figure out what FOMO meant until they finally googled it. That pretty much spells out the end of Amex unless they can turn shit around. FBNO and USB introduced their own smartphone touchscreen OS too. Its do or die for Amex.
