The Fine Print

  • Valid from Oct 15, 2014 – Feb 15, 2015
  • Card must be enrolled
  • Only purchases made in store and online at www.wfm.com are valid for this promotion
  • Reward dollars (which can be redeemed for statement credit) will post 6-8 weeks after your purchase
  • Eligible purchases do not include the purchase of traveler’s checks or the purchase or reloading of prepaid cards or other cash equivalents. All American Express promos have similar terms and it never seems to be enforced.
  • Account must be open and in good standing at the time the reward dollars post to your account

Our Verdict

Unfortunately Whole Foods only sells their own gift cards, the resale value is 90.5% but there is still no opportunity for pure profit. If you shop at Whole Foods anyway, then this promotion makes sense. Personally I find them to be overpriced compared to their competition and a 2% bonus isn’t enough to change my spending habits. That said, I’ve still enrolled in this promotion in case I make purchases there.
